Your Healthcare Matters
Family is those you trust. They come in all sizes and shapes, from relatives to friends, to neighbors and even sometimes your medical provider. Families are there to listen and support one another. That is how Dr. Seeber made Maria feel, which was just what she was looking for in a medical provider.
When Maria Nielson and her husband were seeking a new Primary Care Provider, they knew that Tri-State Memorial Hospital’s Family Practice & Internal Medicine was where they wanted to be. Maria and her husband were both former longtime employees of Tri-State Memorial Hospital. “Between my husband and me, we both worked at Tri-State for 40 years,” said Maria. “We know what the expectations are for the hospital and the importance they place on having a clean environment along with a caring staff. Tri-State is our choice of hospital.”
Upon Dr. Carson Seeber’s arrival at Tri-State Family Practice & Internal Medicine in August of 2015, Maria had the opportunity in her position to connect and get to know him. “I immediately liked his demeanor and personality,” said Maria. “From there, my husband and I started seeing him for our annual physicals.”
Last year, Dr. Seeber received some concerning lab results for Maria. With her elevated liver enzymes, he wanted to access the situation as quickly as possible. He immediately referred her to a specialist. They discovered she needed to have gall bladder surgery, and three weeks later, she did just that. “Apparently, I had a very large gallstone that was not causing any problems at the time, but it could have completely blocked my bile duct, which would not have been a nice thing,” said Maria. “There were a couple of times that I saw Dr. Seeber for some unusual health concerns. In this instance, he wanted a second opinion, and right away went and got another physician to confirm his diagnosis. That really impressed me.”
Dr. Seeber embodies the traits of a caring friend and a dedicated provider. “During a typical visit, he always asks how I am doing and inquires about my family. He takes his time in explaining things and what treatment plan he suggests,” said Maria. “He always asks me if there is anything else I would like to talk to him about, and he makes sure that I understand everything. I feel so comfortable with him, and I am confident he has treated me to the best of his ability,” said Maria. “I recommended him to our sons and their families, and we are all very happy with the way he takes care of us, from our 9-year-old grandson to my husband and I, who are retired. He is very thorough and truly makes my health his first priority.”
Before coming to Tri-State, Dr. Seeber completed his residency through Michigan State University at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Additionally, he graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies, with his Medical Doctorate in 2011 and received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, N.B., Canada, in 2001. Dr. Seeber is board certified in Family Medicine and serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Tri-State Memorial Hospital.
