84-year-old Johnie Brown – known as JB throughout the community – has lived in the Lewis-Clark Valley for the past 16 years. He retired after honorably serving in the US Navy for 20 years, where he met and fell in love with his beautiful wife, Carol. This area has become their home, making many connections and friends along the way. Some of which have worked at Tri-State Memorial Hospital.
“I was drawn to Tri-State because of the people,” said JB. “Let me tell you, in all of the years I have been coming here, I am still treated with the exact same care as the first time I walked through the doors. My wife comes over here too – we just love it.”
JB has always been active, whether he was serving in the navy, working in the retail industry, or playing football. Over the years, he started to endure knee problems and the pain was beginning to become unbearable. When Dr. Hansen recommended surgery, he knew it was the best decision for him. The opportunity to heal was encouragement enough.
“I told the doctor, ‘anything to help me, you’re the doctor, and I am the patient. You know what is best.’”
Dr. Regan Hansen, robotic surgery specialist, used Mako Smart Robotics™ at the Tri-State Surgery Center to give JB his best opportunity for healing. The advanced guided robotic arm assistance technology combined with 3D modeling allowed Dr. Hansen to provide a more accurate level of precision resulting in quicker and faster recovery times.
“I appreciate the modern technology at Tri-State,” said JB. “I tell people with no hesitation, that Tri-State is the place to go when you need healthcare. There are not enough words in the dictionary to explain how Dr. Hansen and the Tri-State team treated me. The doctors, the nurses, everyone is irreplaceable.”
Through JB’s time at Tri-State, he has built long lasting connections with the staff, making many lifelong friends along the way. From the nursing team to providers, those valued relationships have confirmed his trust and comradery when it comes to healthcare. “I haven’t had a bad minute or second here – it’s unexplainable. I am happy with Tri-State – the hospital is A +.”
