COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Information:

While Pfizer has made announcements about a possible booster dose for the COVID 19 vaccine, the FDA and CDC have released a statement recently affirming that people who are fully vaccinated do not need a booster dose at this time. The FDA and CDC are reviewing clinical trials and processes to consider whether or when a booster dose may be necessary. They will continue to keep everyone informed and will announce the need for booster doses if and when the science and data demonstrates they are needed.

The FDA and CDC continue to promote vaccination against the coronavirus, especially against the Delta variant. Looking toward the future, Pfizer has announced it is going to be seeking authorization from the FDA to administer the third dose of its vaccine to boost the immune response. Their initial release of data found that a third dose was 5 to 10 times more effective at neutralizing the virus. Pfizer is also developing an updated version of their vaccine due to the mutations of the Delta variant. That vaccine would then go back through the regulatory process for approval.

Fully Vaccinated?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released information on the activities you can resume and the precautions you should continue to take after being vaccinated.
