Tri-State Memorial Hospital & Medical Campus Celebrates National Nutrition Month® 2018
March is National Nutrition Month®, and Tri-State Clinical Nutrition and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics are encouraging everyone to take advantage of the benefits healthy eating habits offer through this year’s theme, ‘Go Further With Food’. The foods you choose to eat can make a real difference. By planning meals in advance, you’ll add necessary nutrients, save money, and help reduce food waste.
To celebrate National Nutrition Month®, Tri-State Memorial Hospital & Medical Campus is hosting a FREE community education information seminar presented by registered dietitian nutritionist, Jennifer Raykovich, RDN, LD, CD, of Tri-State Clinical Nutrition on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Tri-State Memorial Hospital Conference Room. Join us to learn how to make healthy, informed choices and develop sound eating habits. Attendees will leave the information seminar with healthy recipes and a sample grocery list to help them get started on their way to a healthier life.
“National Nutrition Month® is a time for us to take a step back and evaluate our food practices while focusing on making informed food choices,” says Tri-State Clinical Nutrition Director, Jennifer Lind, RDN, LD, CD. “Our goal is to promote accurate nutrition knowledge and encourage healthy living through sound eating habits and physical activity. We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating National Nutrition Month® at our free community education on Tuesday, March 13.”
Each March, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics focus nationwide attention on healthful eating through National Nutrition Month®. Initiated in 1973 as National Nutrition Week, the public education campaign became a month-long observance in 1980 in response to growing interest in nutrition. The Academy communicates healthful eating messages that emphasize balancing food and beverages within an individual's needs and work to improve overall well-being through lifelong commitment to healthful lifestyle behaviors.
It is important to note that all registered dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are registered dietitians. At Tri-State Clinical Nutrition, our registered dietitian nutritionists offer health and wellness programs to help individuals achieve the changes needed to sustain a healthier lifestyle long-term. From nutrition planning to diabetes prevention and more, our registered dietitian nutritionists will lead you on the right path and help you make the best choices to live your healthiest life.
