New Memory Care Unit to be built at Evergreen Estates Retirement & Assisted Living Community
Tri-State Memorial Hospital Board of Directors voted unanimously to begin a building project to meet the greatest needs of seniors living in the LC Valley. The project is set to begin in February, 2018 and be completed by April, 2019 and is scheduled to cost approximately $11 million upon its completion. The project will consist of a renovation throughout the existing building with a 3-story addition connected to the east side of Evergreen Estates, offering over 12,000 square feet of new space. 20 memory units will be added, along with 30 additional apartments located on the second and third floors.
The new features on the main floor will include a bistro, beauty and barber shop, activity room, theater, court yard, and dining room. The memory unit will also have its own secure court yard and dining room. The new units will include one-bedroom apartments for both assisted living and independent living adults. The beautifully appointed apartment homes will feature kitchens with granite counter tops and a full package of stainless appliances, including range, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. The assisted living program includes a 24/7 licensed nurse on staff to manage a wide variety of medical conditions. Residents in the assisted living program are served three nutritious meals a day, and housekeeping is provided on a daily basis.
Don Wee, CEO of Tri-State says: “the addition of a memory unit completes our full continuum of care on site for Tri-State and Evergreen Estates: independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing care, along with all of the specialty clinics and necessary hospital departments located across the walkway. We are proud to move forward with this project knowing what it will do to meet the needs of our community.”
Located on Tri-State Memorial Hospital’s campus in Clarkston, WA, Evergreen Estates is both a wonderful and active retirement community as well as a safe and compassionate assisted living facility. Upon the renovation and new addition completion, the retirement, assisted living, and memory care units will all be licensed by Washington state as well as the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
