New Memory Care Unit and 3-story addition to be built at Evergreen Estates Retirement & Assisted Living Community
Evergreen Estates Retirement & Assisted Living Community will be renovating their existing building and adding a new memory care unit to meet the greatest needs of seniors living in the Lewis-Clark Valley. A 3-story addition will also be built onto Evergreen Estates at the same time, offering an additional 34,000 sq. ft. for resident apartments. The project is set to be completed in phases. Phase I will be the addition, expected to be completed by late 2019. Phase II will be the renovation and memory care unit, expected to be completed by 2020.
The project will consist of a full renovation throughout the existing Evergreen Estates building including remodeling all resident apartments and adding new features such as a bistro, beauty and barber shop, activity room, theatre, courtyard, larger dining room, and new kitchen, all on the main floor. The first floor West wing will be converted into a new memory care unit for 20 people in private apartments. The new memory care unit will be a secure area for the special needs of people with memory loss. A private, secure courtyard and dining room will be available specifically for memory care residents.
At the same time as the renovation, a 3-story addition will be built on the East side of Evergreen Estates. The addition will offer over 34,000 sq. ft. for additional resident apartments. There will be one-bedroom apartments available for both assisted living and independent living adults. The beautifully appointed apartments will feature kitchenettes with spacious countertops and a full package of appliances. Those requiring assisted living will have access to 24/7 caregivers who are able to manage a wide variety of medical conditions.
Upon completion of the project, the total number of apartments will increase from 95 to 131, including the 20 memory care units. All resident fees will continue to include scheduled activities, services such as weekly housekeeping, all meals and snacks, utilities (cable, phone, and Wi-Fi), and an emergency pendant to request medical assistance.
“As the needs of our community evolve, we evolve with them and work hard to ensure we provide the best quality of life for our residents,” said Don Wee, Chief Executive Officer at Tri-State Memorial Hospital & Medical Campus. “Memory loss conditions continue to rise in the U.S. and are extremely prevalent in the Lewis-Clark Valley. By adding a memory care unit, residents will now have a safe, home-like environment designed for their specific needs while the renovation and addition will offer expanded amenities and increased accessibility.”
To commemorate the project, Evergreen Estates will be hosting a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00am located at 1215 Evergreen Court, Clarkston, WA. For more information, please
